We Do What We Have Been Taught!

Everyone desires to be SUCCESSFUL! But not everyone has been taught the Principles of Success. In the past ten years I have had the pleasure of working with tens of thousands of people and I have discovered that in addition to not being taught the Principles of Success that very few people STUDY Success. These two discoveries drove me to ask the question, 'How can someone DO what they have not been TAUGHT?'

Let's look at it from a different angle. In all of your years of academic training, spiritual training, and or on the job training, at what point was Success Principles 101 offered. At what point during your formal education did any of your teachers spend time on topics such as: The Law of Sowing and Reaping; the Law of Attraction; Definiteness of Purpose; and or Affirmations.........to name a few?

Success Is A Process!

If we really give the subject matter some thought everyone in every endeavor seeks success, unless something is mentally or emotionally wrong. Those seeking success in most cases have never been trained on success and end up hitting their head up against the proverbial brick wall. Hitting our heads leads to frustration, and frustration in many cases leads to giving in to the desire to quit. Success is a process! That process involves frustration, hitting our head, falling off the horse, making mistakes and work ethic, vision, perseverance and more. The person you BECOME in the process of mastering these success traits is tremendous and more valuable than the income you generate or recognition you receive!

Success Principle: Success Is A Numbers Game!

My mentor, Jim Rohn, always said 'What we lack in skill we can make up in numbers!' Success in any endeavor in life demands that we go through the numbers.

The real estate investor may research 35 properties before closing on one investment property.

The car salesperson may have to sort through 30 car viewers before identifying a car buyer.

The network marketer may have to expose 25 people before he or she gets their first recruit.

In each situation we must go through the numbers. The unseen benefit of going through the numbers is your skill will increase! Therefore what you lack in skill initially can be made up by going through massive numbers in a disciplined and consistent manner. Even though you may not have the success traits mastered initially, going through the numbers enables you to create the success you desire, explode your income and most of all GROW!

Action Exercises

Here are some action items you can execute starting today to put this Success Principle into action.

1. Make a decision today to commit to going through the numbers independent of your potential clients response. All successful people make quick decisions and TAKE MASSIVE ACTION!

2. Set a goal for the next 30 days. Break that goal into weekly and daily activity. Go through your numbers in a consistent and disciplined manner! This may be you piquing 15 people per day or asking 8 people per day for a referral. The number is not as important as building the habit of discipline and consistency!

3. At the end of each 7 day period review the previous week. Take notes on "What I did great!" and "What I need to work on!"

4. Interview the top producers in your field and do what they did without fail!

Get Rich or Get an Education!
Which is more important?

Did you know that society places more value on getting an education than getting rich? Let's do a test! If you where in your last semester of college with two months until graduation and you received an invite from your ideal Wealth Coach (i.e. Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Jerry Clark, Brian Tracy) to spend the next ninety days with him or her at their home for intensive day by day training on how to create wealth, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Society does not understand!

Most of society would decide to complete their degree! Let's think about this! The goal of college is to teach the necessary principles so that the student may become productive and earn a significant income. The goal of a wealth coach is to teach the student the Principles of Wealth Creation so that he or she produces more in less time!

Therefore society is either COMPLETELY ignorant of the immense value of a Wealth or Success Coach or society desires that we only earn a significant income versus earning wealth. My guess is society just does not understand the value in wealth coaches or the importance of financial literacy!

DO NOT listen to Society!

Society in the form of high schools, teachers, colleges, professors and even well meaning parents give us advice about life, success and making money that in some cases should be ignored. We hear comments such as:

Go to school and get a good job! Response: Good and job don't go in the same sentence!

Work hard on your job so that you can move up! Response: Working harder on you produces greater results!

Money can't buy you love! Response: Broke can't buy you anything!

Starting your own business is risky! Response: Getting laid off is risky!

What if getting rich does not work?! Response: What if it does work then I will not have to work!

If you want to be successful go to college! Response: There are many homeless people who have college degrees!

The truth of the matter is we should be careful who we take advice from. Think about this:

If I am divorced can I tell you how to have a great marriage? If I am over weight can I tell you how to lead a healthy lifestyle? Therefore someone earning $65,000 per year can't tell you how to earn $65,000 per month.

If you have goals of creating wealth or getting rich read the steps below and start executing them TODAY!

1. Research and pick a wealth creation vehicle! Network marketing, real estate, franchising, investing, are some of the areas you can start your research with! You will increase your probability for success by aligning your wealth creation vehicle with your career passions.

2. Develop your plan! Putting your plan, your goals, your dreams on paper increase your chances of accomplishing the goal by more than 40%.

3. Take MASSIVE Action today! And tomorrow, and the next day........consistently!! The key is to do something daily and it will then become a habit!

4. Identify RICH mentors that will happily assist you at creating wealth! Your income is where it is because of the habits that you have. Learn the daily habits of RICH mentors and you will begin to attract the success you desire.

5. Form a Mastermind! Your Mastermind will encourage you and hold you accountable when the journey becomes challenging!

6. Devour books on a weekly basis that empower you in the core areas of your career focus!

Getting RICH always involves getting an education, but getting an education doesn't always involve getting RICH!

Are You Clear About What You Want!

Be Clear About What You Want
When I graduated from college I was clear about what I DID NOT WANT TO DO but I was not clear about WHAT I WANTED TO POUR MY LIFE INTO! Yes I had successfully completed my engineering degree and I had job offers, but nothing I was passionate about! Over the past ten or more years I have trained and coached thousands of people and discovered that not only are college graduates unclear about what they want but those who are established in corporate America are still unclear about what they want out of life.

Unfortunately Passion 101 and Purpose 202 are not taught in our educational system at any level. In addition Goal Setting and Goal Achievement are not taught either. Goal Setting and Goal Achievement are mandatory for success and a crucial subset of pursuing your Purpose.

The Benefit of Clearly Defined Goals
Having clearly defined goals is a common denominator of ALL of successful people! A Harvard study in 1979 showed that only 3% of the MBA graduates had clearly written goals! As a result the 3% earns ten times more than the other 97% combined!
If God where to ask you, "What are 100 Goals that you want to accomplish?"
What would your response be? Pick one!
a. One second I need to get my list!
b. Wait a minute I have been meaning to write those down!
c. I know 4 or 5 but 100, WOW!
d. Uhhhh!!!!!!!

Accomplishing The Feeder Goal
Have you ever found yourself pouring your time, effort, and energy into something that made you feel as if you where wasting your time or spinning your wheels? It made you feel like a hamster running on a wheel and going nowhere! Many times this happens to people because they do not have clearly defined goals with a game plan for their accomplishment!

Almost 20 years ago one of my mentors told me "A man or woman without a dominant goal in his or her life will waste their time doing worthwhile things!"

Making a list of your goals will provide energy and focus! In many cases accomplishing one of your goals will enable you to accomplish many of the additional goals that you have. It will feed your remaining goals with resources, skills, networks and momentum! Successful people are able to effectively pick their Feeder Goal. Master this skill over time!

Action Exercises
1. Make a list of your goals and dreams! Determine what you want to accomplish in the following key life areas: Faith; Finances; Relationships; Career; Health; and Travel. Figure out which one or maybe two goals if completed successfully will enable you accomplish the remaining goals on your list! Focus on those one or two goals with disciplined consistency!

2. Visualize and Affirm Daily! Thinking about what you do not want will enable you to create MORE of what you do not want! Therefore be CLEAR about what you DO want and think about that in a visual manner!

3. Study and develop relationships with people who have accomplished what you desire to accomplish! There are two ways to learn, from your own personal experience or from the experience of others! The latter is WISDOM in action!

4. Create a game plan and follow it! Every goal MUST have a game plan! A goal with no game plan is just like saying I want to travel to Chicago from Houston and getting in the car and jumping on the nearest freeway regardless if that freeway is traveling north, south, east, or west! Keep in mind as you are traveling north to Chicago that there might be some construction, detours and or road blocks and you must be flexible!
